Description Looking south-southeast from the east end of Aioi Bridge (left bank side). In the left foreground, the wreckage of the Japan Red Cross Society Hiroshima Chapter is visible, and to the right, where only the foundation of the building is left, is the wrackage of the branch's wooden building, which was completely destroyed by fire. In the center is the Hiroshima Prefectural Industrial Promotion Hall (Atomic Bomb Dome), and the buildings to the far right include the Meiji Insurance Hiroshima Branch and Hiroshima Fukokukan on the Fukuro-machi streetcar route. Behind the Motoyasu River on the far right is Hiroshima City Hall, etc., and the bridge in front of it is the Motoyasu Bridge. The granite stone walls of the Motoyasu River are blackened by fire, and scattered debris is visible on the riverbank as the tide recedes.
