Behind the shrine is Fukuya Department Store. To the right of the department store are the new and main buildings of the Chugoku Shimbun. To the rear of Nagarekawa Street is Hiroshima Nagarekawa Church, which suffered devastating damage, but had begun restoration work, and Sunday service in the spring of 1946.
