Description Kako-machi, about 850 meters from the hypocenter. Looking west at ruins of the Hiroshima Prefectural government building. The wooden building of the Hiroshima Prefectural government was built in 1878. The instant the atomic bomb detonated, the building, in close range of the hypocenter, quickly collapsed and burned down. At the time of the bombing, the Hiroshima governor was Genshin Takano.
