Description Looking northwest from Shimoyanagi-cho. The soldier in the left foreground is probably a military police officer accompanying the photographer. Amid the remains of wooden houses and stores reduced to rubble, Hiroshima Higashi (East) Police Station and Hiroshima Central Broadcasting Station, camouflaged with its outer walls painted black, stand alone amid the rubble.
