Description The two vertical lines in the foreground are destroyed window frames on the third floor of the Chugoku Shimbun main building. Looking south on the completely destroyed and burned area. Kanawajima island, where many A-bomb victims were carried, is clearly visible in the upper center of the photo with no obstacles in the way. The diagonal road in the center of the photo is Nagarekawa Street. From the left is the southern edge of Hijiyama hill, below which is the chimney of the Kubota Soy Sauce Company head office. (The top of this chimney was removed and is preserved and displayed at Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum).
