Looking northeast from the rooftop of the Hiroshima City Hall main office building (north side). In the foreground is a pond in the Public Hall garden. From the fence in the upper right corner of the picture to the far righ is where Hiroshima Prefectural Daiichi Junior Highschool was. You can see the wreckage of its main gate and enshrinement hall called Houanko, which dedicates a picture of the Emperor and the Imperial Rescript on Education. From the back left, you can see Fukuromachi Elementary School, Hiroshima Branch of Obayashi Corporation (Construction Company), Hiroshima Branch of Yasuda Bank, Hiroshima Central Telephone Station, old and new buildings of Fukuya Department Store, Kirin Beer Hall, new building and main building of Chugoku Shimbun Newspaper Company, Hiroshima Branch of Nippon Kangyo Bank, Tada Pediatrics Clinic, and Hiroshima Higashi Police Station. |
