This hospital was also an army hospital, and it remained standing in an area where almost all buildings collapsed and burned. It had a greater stock of medical supplies than other hospitals, but such supplies ran out quickly as the hospital treated a flood of victims who came soon after the bombing. It continued to provide round-the-clock care to victims, without closing hospital operations even for a day. By the end of August, 792 relief workers had taken care of 31,000 patients at the hospital.
