Description | View from the west end of Motoyasu Bridge, looking over the Motoyasu River toward Shima Hospital, the hypocenter. The bridge beams withstood the bombing, but all the railings fell into the river. The cap stones on top of the main beams were shifted in opposite directions, and, based on this, the hypocenter was estimated to be located at a point directly beyond Motoyasu Bridge. |
