Description | The east wall of the Honkawa National Elementary School building faced the hypocenter. The bomb’s blast pushed the walls of the third and second floors out of shape, indenting them. Many at the school, including approximately 400 children and 10 teachers, were killed. The school building was used as a relief station from the following day. |
