| Description | The Hiroshima Gas head office, looking southwest from the building’s northeast corner. The pillars supporting the balcony frame the main entrance. The building, which was located close to the hypocenter, collapsed except for its southwest corner and burned. The fire is said to have lasted for two days. The roughly 30 employees who had come to work all died, including those who escaped the building. |
