| Description | The Bank of Japan’s Hiroshima branch. The building of the Bank of Japan’s Hiroshima branch was constructed of steel-framed reinforced concrete and masonry. The building was engulfed in raging flames and its inside was reduced to ashes. But the exterior would not budge. The building is still used today, and is one of several A-bombed buildings in Hiroshima City still in use. In front of the bank is a streetcar that was completely burned. |
