| Description | The Hiroshima Gas Head Office was mostly destroyed by the atomic bomb's blast. The west and south walls of the building remained, but the north wall facing the hypocenter collapsed from the strong explosion pressure from the third floor to the basement. The balcony and columns at the entrance, facing Otemachi Street on the east side, narrowly escaped collapse. The road on the left is Otemachi Street, and the buildings in the background are the Nippon Chochiku Bank Hiroshima Branch and the Hiroshima Agricultural Association Hiroshima Branch. |
