Description This is the third of seven panoramic photographs taken from the ruins of the turret in the southeast corner of the main citadel of Hiroshima Castle, looking southeast. In the foreground on the left are the site of Infantry Reserve Unit No.1 and the Central Communications Replacement Unit. Behind them is the site of the Hiroshima Regimental Headquarters. The high heat and sudden drop in atmospheric pressure caused small whirlwinds in many places. Here, there also seems to have been a whirlwind, as a large tree fell in the direction of the hypocenter. From the left are the Hiroshima Central Broadcasting Station, Hiroshima Higashi (East) Police Station, Nippon Kangyo Bank Hiroshima Branch, and the Chugoku Shimbun Company main and new buildings. On the right end are the Fukuya Department Store old and new buildings. In the foreground, slightly left of center, the Hokushin Incident monument (near Kyoguchimon Gate) and the inner moat can be seen. The hill in the background is Hijiyama hill, followed by Ogonsan hill (Nihojima Island).
