| Description | This is the ninth of 11 panoramic photographs taken from the rooftop of the Hiroshima Higashi (East) Police Station looking east-southeast. The river in the center is the Kyobashi River. In the middle of the river, near the pile of driftwood, is the Yanagi Bridge, which was completely destroyed, burned, and fell. Across the river, Hijiyama hill can be seen near Gobinden (emperor's temporary place of sojourn). The Hiroshima Prefectural Food Corporation's Hijiyama Food Warehouse can be seen in the central part of Hijiyama's base. On the right are Hijiyama Shrine and Tamonin Temple. On the far left is the boundary between the totally destroyed and partially-destroyed areas. Behind Hijiyama hill on the right end is Ogonsan hill. In front of the Kyobashi River are Shimoyanagi-cho and Hiratsuka-cho. Across the river are Inari-machi, Matsubara-cho, Kinya-cho, Kirinoki-machi, etc. |
