| Description | Shima Hospital, above which the atomic bomb exploded at a height of about 600 meters, collapsed and was reduced to rubble. With its meter-thick walls, the hospital was thought to be able to withstand any bombing, but it was destroyed. About 75 patients and hospital staff were killed here in the bombing. |
