The main, north side of the Chugoku Shimbun newspaper's new building. Crumpled cars and motorcycles are scattered about. In the same instant as the bomb’s flash, the glass windows of the the seven-story reinforced concrete building were blown out, and the building was shaken so violently that it seemed as if it would collapse. Flames erupted from the windows, all the newspaper publishing equipment was destroyed, and the company building was gutted by fire, with only the outer walls remaining. |
