| Description | From in front of the large torii gate of Hiroshima Gokuku Shrine looking southwest. The National government’s special committee consisted of about ten members including Tadayoshi Sasaki and Shuji Aihara who entered Hiroshima City by truck from Japan Steel Works in Kaita, where they were staying. This is their first day in Hiroshima City. After this, they walked a dozen meters to the north and had a meeting in front of the large torii gate of Hiroshima Gokuku Shrine. Then they broke into groups (physics, biology, medicine, etc.) and began survey activities. The streetcar of the Hiroshima Electric Railway (No. 413), in front of the A-bomb Dome, heading toward Kamiya-cho (left) was back in service on Spetember 7th, 1945. (Sakan-cho = Hatchobori) |
