| Description | The wooden shrine buildings were completely destroyed by the blast and fire, leaving only their stone bases. Many trees (red pine trees and willow trees) surrounding the shrine buildings were snapped by the blast and burned by a razing blaze. Most stone structures such as the stone lanterns, the guardian dog statues, fences and the torii gate were knocked down by the blast. The many shadowy burn marks left by the heat rays on those stone structures were used in order to locate the point of detonation and the hypocenter. |
