| Description | In the upper left corner is Hiroshima Prefectural Commerce Association, in the center to the rear are survivors’ shacks built soon after the war, and to the rear on the right is Honkawa National School. The stone lantern and torii gate made of granite, stood directly north of the hypocenter, and fell down to the north and west, respectively. The strong blast and pressure of the explosion created a momentary vacuum; winds blew wildly like a whirlwind, not in a one single direction. |
