| Description | From the northeast corner of the front of Hiroshima Gokoku Shrine's Worship Hall, looking southwest. In the upper left corner is Hiroshima Prefectural Commerce Association, in the center to the rear are survivors’ shacks built soon after the war, to rear on the right is Honkawa National School. The stone lantern and torii gate made of granite stood directly north of the hypocenter and fell to the north and west, respectively. The strong blast and pressure of the explosion created a momentary vacuum; winds blew wildly like a whirlwind, not in a one single direction. |
