The two-story brick hospital building was located directly under the bomb’s detonation point, and was completely destroyed, leaving its base, a round column at the entrance, and a circular window. Of the roughly 75 people in the building, including patients, nurses and other hospital staff, all were wiped out together with the building. In the center are the ruins of the hospital’s entrance, in the central rear is Ninoshima Island, and to the right is the Hiroshima Post Office. |
