From the center of the west side of Motoyasu Bridge, looking east. The area beyond the bridge is Saiku-machi. An airplane can be seen in the sky. Motoyasu Bridge is located almost directly beneath the A-bomb’s detonation point, and was hit by the blast from nearly directly above. Its parapets fell into Motoyasu River, and the main pillars' hibukuro (where the fire of the stone lanterns would be lit) were shifted. |
