| Description | Downstream, on the west side of Motoyasu Bridge in Nakajima-honmachi. From the left: the Hiroshima branch of Hiroshima Prefectural Nogyokai (present-day Japan Agricultural Cooperatives); Chugoku Haiden’s head office; Hiroshima City Asano Library; Hiroshima City Hall; Hiroshima Red Cross Hospital, and Chugoku Haiden’s Otemachi substation. Four U.S. carrier-based Grumman fighter bombers are flying overhead. In the rear are Kanawajima Island, Etajima Island, Ninoshima Island and so on. The burned area in the foreground is Nakajima-honmachi. On the left side, near the riverbank are the ruins of Sakura yu, a public bath. The short wall to the right side is the ruined Harada Surgery building. |
