| Description | A sidewalk of the Aioi Bridge, displaced laterally by the bomb's blast, was photographed facing north. Aioi Bridge has a distinctive T-shape, and it was the target of the bombing because of its location in the center of the city. The parapet on the north side of the bridge fell into the river after being blown over by the bomb's blast, and the sidewalk was raised by the blast's rebound from the water surface. |
